Life Is Sweet
This piece is printed on metal and I used an image of Kanye West in the background for this piece. I made it during his divorce and liked the juxtaposition of his stoic face and the “Life is Sweet” quote underneath. Kayne wrote, "Never was much of a romantic, /I could never take the intimacy. /And I know I did damage, /'Cause the look in your eyes is killing me, /I guess you've got another advantage /'Cause you could blame me for everything. /And I don't know how I'm a manage, /If one day you just up and leave.” The piece looks the best under a black light since the heart and quote completely glow in neon green paint. I used sugar on his face to make it glisten before completing it with a final coat of acrylic resin.

Peace And Love
This magical original piece has several 3D components including a wooden peace sign lacquered onto it. It has multiple layers underneath it, which gives it complexity. I used glow in the dark paint so that it really lights up when under a black light, giving a completely different look with different lighting. I used a card my aunt sent me to create the love letters, which adds a touch of sentiment to the piece as well. It represents love and peace, which we all crave. The woman was created after myself since I love wearing hats. The butterflies represent change and transformation, hope and positivity. I will sign it prior to shipping.

Guitar
My dad has always been one of my heroes. He is the reason I started creating art since he encouraged me to start creating it just months before he passed away from a long battle with cancer. He was a luthier and artist himself. Before he passed away he gave me the guitar that was used in this piece. It was an old Fender that he had shaved and colored. He called the guitar ‘The Clown Show’. I kept it for many years, not sure what to do with it. I finally came up with the idea to use it to make a piece of art. I first used record cover albums from many of his favorite bands to cover the canvas. I then cut out various lion heads to cover the neck and then used white roses from my garden and put them on it as well, as a symbol of my dad. I also added an ultrasound photo of my son Michael Jack since he was conceived about 6 months after my dad passed, and was in many ways a miracle. I then used acrylic resin to put it all together. When the resin dried I noticed that a tiny and perfect bee had landed on it, and was permanently stuck on the piece as well. I looked up the meaning of bees and they represent fertility and new life, which was so perfect. This piece will forever stay on my wall and is dedicated to my father.
